Because of the events happening in the States recently, I’ve felt myself spiraling emotionally to the point that it has affected me physically. The most important change I made this week was to disable all news and social media notifications on my phone; now I’m in control of when I read or watch the news.
Secondly, I’m replacing social and news media, podcast, etc. with meditation, meditation music, and reading. I listen to meditation music while driving, walking and doing other daily activities. I also set aside time daily to meditate. I’m not very good at it, but hopefully this will improve. Thus far, mediation has been protective against the negativity I’m exposed to during the day. I've really enjoyed Aleksi Perälä', which was mentioned in another post, and other music using Hemi-Sync.

I disengaged from mainstream media and news a long time ago, i focus on what i can change around me rather than worry about the things I cannot change in other areas. Also, no matter where you get your sources, the narrative is skewed by some bias or other and nothing you read is really the true picture of what is happening anyway.
