Random thought that popped in my head that I thought someone may appreciate.
I’ve heard mention many times about how Close Encounters of the Third Kind was “soft disclosure” of sorts, and there were supposed CIA ties to the production (not sure how accurate this is, I’ve not looked into it, but I see this frequently).
That sparked my brain into making the connection of Spielberg to Lucas, and Lucas to Star Wars. My understanding is Lucas and Spielberg have been friends for a long time and these two movies were produced at the same time. My thinking was, either consciously or subconsciously, elements of the nature of reality seeped into Star Wars.
I should clarify, when I say “disclosure” I don’t mean in the same way of acknowledging ET life or UFOs, but more so on the “spiritual” aspects of reality, or at the very least, exposing people to these ideas. “Planting the seed”
The big example that comes to mind is the force, which is this ever present energy, that exists in all things everywhere (like ki or animism). Specially you see examples of this energy playing out by fortelling the future (Ben Kenobi) manipulating lower forms of consciousness without directly overriding their free will (“These aren’t the droids you’re looking for”), remote viewing (Luke training with the visor down) and the non-linear nature of material reality being exposed (Ben’s body just disappeared), and consciousness existing beyond material reality (Force Ghost).
Many many more examples ofc, but as someone who grew up watching Star Wars (a household staple) but never really payed much attention, this struck me as incredibly profound in the light of all that I’ve been reading about and learning here.
It’s hard to put into words, but it just made so much sense all of a sudden, and I don’t think that was random.
One additional point however, I’m not sure if this is also accurate, but I get the feeling that whatever kind of “soft disclosure” this was meant to be, by Lucas or whatever powers that be, it was clawed back in, or watered down later on, specifically with the focus on bringing balance to the force, and the duality aspect in the later films, that I seem to remember a lot of, but the details are fuzzy from childhood, I haven’t seen these movies in years, and I barely remember seeing the sequels. Just a feeling.
At any rate, I guess if you haven’t seen Star Wars (1977) then I’d recommend it ^_^
Its funny you posted this now, because last night I was watching a video about Sacred Geometry and the Djedi of Ancient Egypt were mentioned, which blew my mind wide open and here you are posting about Star Wars! :D A brief description of what they Djedi are: "The term "Djedi" (pronounced "Jedi") originates from ancient Egypt, referring to a group of priestly figures known for their profound wisdom and supposed magical abilities. They were considered guardians of sacred knowledge and were believed to possess the power to manipulate energy and consciousness, aligning closely with the principles of Sacred Geometry.
The Djed Pillar, often associated with the god Osiris, symbolizes stability and continuity in ancient Egyptian culture. Its geometric structure—a column with horizontal crossbars—represents the connection between the earth and the heavens, embodying the idea of support and endurance. This symbolism resonates with the Djedi's role as stabilizers of cosmic order and conveyors of esoteric knowledge"
